Italian Deputy Consul General Cataldo Cianciaruso Tours Hunan Museum

On July 28, Cataldo Cianciaruso, Deputy Consul General of the Italian Consulate General in Guangzhou, visited the Hunan Museum and met with Duan Xiaoming, the Museum’s Party Committee Secretary and Director.

During the meeting, Duan Xiaoming provided an overview of the Hunan Museum and highlighted recent joint projects with Italian cultural institutions, notably the exhibition “Meet Pompeii: The Eternal City.” He expressed interest in forging lasting partnerships with more Italian institutions in the future.

Cataldo Cianciaruso spoke of museum exchanges as a vital bridge in the cultural diplomacy and broader ties between China and Italy. He affirmed that the Consulate General in Guangzhou stands ready to assist the Hunan Museum in building links with Italian institutions and would be happy to suggest appropriate partners.

During his visit, Cataldo Cianciaruso highly praised the two exhibitions he toured at the Hunan Museum: “Changsha Ma Wangdui Han Dynasty Tombs Exhibition” and “Meet Pompeii: The Eternal City.”
