Celebrate New Year in our museum: family-day activity of “Barbie’s Chinese Spring Festival”

To celebrate Chinese Spring Festival, our museum held Family Day activities of “Barbie’s Chinese Spring Festival”. Through participated with various, colorful and vivid activities, children experienced different traditional customs, such as “candy and dumpling stuffed Barbie” and “dancing with red silk”, and knew better about cultural acknowledge of Chinese New Year and western New Year.

In the afternoon, the children from 20 different families celebrated a happy New Year with various barbies in our exhibition hall and activity area. Firstly, they visited the “Fairy Tale----The Touring exhibition of collected treasure Barbie Doll in China”.

Then, children returned back to the activity area with joyful mood. With the melodious music, they listened “Barbie sister” to introduce the custom of western New Year and custom of Chinese traditional festival. Besides, in order to give a happy Chinese New Year to Barbies, children learned to stuffed dumpling (Jiao Zi in Chinese) and designed traditional Chinese-style custom clothes for barbies.

Finally, the Family Day activity ended with joy and laugh.
