“Collections of Uffizi Gallery School Tour” hosted by Hunan Provincial Museum entered Changsha Mawangdui Middle School last week, providing students with a precious opportunity to appreciate exquisite duplicates of masterpieces from Italy in their own school.

Students are visiting “Collections of Uffizi Gallery” in their school with great interest.

Under the guidance of their teachers, students watched an introduction film about Uffizi Gallery, obtaining basic knowledge on its splendid history and brilliant collections, which was followed by on-site visit where students were full of enthusiasm about the duplicates of great art works. Then, the professional docents and educators of our museum further imparted knowledge about the paintings and the artistic style of the Renaissance to students through fascinating interpretation and interesting stories. Finally, elaborately designed Working Sheets were handed out to students.

Students are working on the Working Sheets.

This tour, as a part of Public Benefit Activity on the theme of "From Museum to School” hosted by Hunan Provincial Museum, aims at enhancing the educating function of the museum and strengthening the educative combination between schools and our museum. As for students, this exhibition not only provides them with a wonderful platform to get close touch with art works all over the world, but also triggers off their interest and pursuit for art and beauty. It is reported that such exhibition tour will continue in the primary and middle schools of Changsha and neighboring regions.
