“Charm of Silver Jewelries” Exhibition Opens at Hunan Provincial Museum

On the evening of March 28, the opening ceremony of “Charm of Silver Jewelries -- Exhibition of Silver Jewelries of Miao Ethnic Group from Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou” was held on the third floor of the New Exhibition Building of Hunan Provincial Museum. This special exhibition was hosted by Department of Culture of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guizhou Provincial Ethnic Affairs Commission and Hunan Administration of Cultural Heritage, and organized by Hunan Provincial Museum, Guangxi Museum of Nationalities and Guizhou Cultural Palace of Nationalities.  

With the dance of Miao people, the opening party begins.

The opening party was presided over by Liu Xiaobao, vice director of Hunan provincial Museum, with the attendance of Tan Pu, deputy director of Department of Culture of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Zhang Caihui, leader of Discipline Inspection Office of Hunan Department of Culture, He Qiang, deputy director general of Hunan Administration of Cultural Heritage, Zhu Zhaohui, director of institute of nationality studies of Hunan Ethnic Affairs Commission, Gaocong, director of Guizhou Cultural Palace of Nationalities, Xu Zhida, secretary of the Party committee of Liuzhou Museum, etc. After the speeches delivered by Tan Pu and Gao Cong, Mr. Liu Xiaobao gave a brief introduction of the exhibition to the guests. At last, sponsors, organizers and all other guests made a toast together for the opening ceremoney of the exhibition.

It is reported that over 400 pieces of silver jewelries meticulously selected from Hunan, Guangxi and Guizhou, including headwear, neckwear, handwear, baldric, clothes ornaments and tools will be showcased in this exhibition, some of which even enjoy the reputation of “the most beautiful silver jewelries in the whole world”. The exhibition will be open to the public for free from March 29 to May 4.
