“Blind Date in Guqin Melody" Held at Hunan Provincial Museum
On the morning of July 7, the Chinese Valentine’s Day celebrated on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month every year, a special blind-date activity was held on the third floor of the Exhibition Building where 30 pieces of Guqin ranging from Tang Dynasty (618—907AD) and the Republic of China period (1912-1949) are displayed.
Over 40 guests selected from applied single audiences came and participated in this special big event,seeing and listening to Guqin playing and enjoying the games designed by museum staff for their blind date. Participants were gathered by the admiration for Guqin and spent a special Chinese Valentine’s Day amid the melodious music of soul played by Guqin.
In China, Guqin has always been adored by the men of letters, due to its inherent character of modesty This special event ,aiming at creating the occasion of making friends through Guqin for those single men and women who love Chinese tradition music,is an extraordinary part of "Finding Soul Friends in Guqin Melody: Exhibition of Seven-stringed Zithers".
The event began with a melodized "Feng Qiu Huang"(a piece of Guqin music) which tells a love story in Han Dynasty and thereby has become the symbol of love since then. After this, the event entered into the games-playing interactive part . Accompanied by the music, all the people wrote down their lines on love to speak out their love. After all this, the guests started guessing the phrase related to Guqin. The exhibition hall was lived up by their laughters and joys. At last, some guests were invited to sing songs to express their love.

When all these came to the end, our guests not only were informed by further understanding to Guqin, but also got to know each other much more. The whole event was closed by their tour around the Guqin exhibition. All the aidiences were deeply impressed by these objects, especially by those well-know zithers.
