On the morning of August 21, “Guqin Fans Show I: Appreciating the Choral Melody of Guqin”, as an interactive part of “Finding Soul Friends in Guqin Melody: Exhibition of Seven-stringed Zithers”, was held on the third floor of the Exhibition Building where 30 pieces of Guqin ranging from Tang Dynasty (618—907AD) and the Republic of China period (1912-1949) are displayed.

Many Guqin musicians from Huoling Studio, Guqin Society of Hunan University, Guqin Society of Xiangtan University, etc. presented a splendid performance with full sense of archaic rhythm for the audiences.

In addition, 20 disabled audiences from Wenmiao Community which is located near the museum were also invited to experience the charm of Guqin melody.

“Appreciating the Choral Melody of Guqin” was the last event of Guqin Fans Show Series held by Hunan Provincial Museum. It is hoped that through such activities, audiences can be provided with the opportunities of walking closer, falling love to and then carrying forward the art of ancient Chinese Seven-stringed Zithers.
