He Jihua, deputy mayor of Changsha, addressed the opening ceremony.
Chen Jianming, director of Hunan Provincial Museum addressed the ceremony.
Chen Jianming said, from the single art form of painting in “2007 Art Changsha” to the integration and combination of various art forms such as video image, sculpture, paintings, installation, etc. in this year, we are happy to see that "Art Changsha” has made great improvement and obtained more and more attention and support. Museums are relatively cautious towards those exploratory and experimental art forms, due to their mission: public education. As the development of contemporary art requires the public to have an open and inclusive mind and positive attitude, the evolution of museum will need broad minded people towards compatibility and multiplex coexistence.
