Today Art Museum Focuses on 'Public Culture' in 2014
"Except high quality exhibitions, Today Art Museum will focus on public culture and education events in the year of 2014," said Alex Gao, the museum’s executive director, at a press conference on Jan 12, 2014 in Beijing.
At the press conference, Gao outlined ten important exhibitions that the museum will host in 2014.
In 2014, the museum will also host at least 40 public activities for children and 40 educational events for adults, Gao added.
"As China’s first private and non-profit museum, public culture and education is part of our responsibilities." Gao said.
Since Sep. 2013, Today Art Museum has signed strategic agreements with British Council China, Japanese Cultural Center of Beijing and Goethe Institute Beijing, and established cooperation relationships with foreign cultural organizations, including Austrian Embassy (Cultural Office), Alliance France and Institute Cervantes. All the efforts aim to promote public cultural activities, according to Gao.
The museum will also cooperate with domestic art institutes, artists, private studios, educational institutions and NGO organizations to complete its goals on public culture in 2014.
