Zhou Zongdai, born in Changsha, Hunan in 1937, is a famous painter and calligrapher. He loves art and finds great delights in reading and writing. He has ever published several works and articles in many magazines, while holding several exhibitions in Hengyang, Nanjing and Japan.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony

This exhibition highlights many representative works of Zhou, which are of great aesthetic value. His flower-and-bird paintings and water-and-mountain paintings show different life experiences in a perfect way. His flower-and-bird painting, though mainly describing common subjects as plum blossom, chrysanthemum, red leaves, iris and winter birds, uses western expression method, realizing the deconstruction and recombination of the Chinese traditional painting elements. The great passion of artist is thus transformed into spirit power in visual art.
