Hunan Provincial Museum and Yuelu Academy Sign Cooperation Agreement

On the morning of April 20th, a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement was signed between the Hunan Provincial Museum and the Yuelu Academy of Hunan University. Duan Xiaoming, director of the Hunan Provincial Museum, Li Jianmao, deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Museum, Xiao Yongming, director of Yuelu Academy, Sun Jianping, deputy director of the Yuelu Academy and other officials and student delegates attended the ceremony.

Sun Jianping hosted the ceremony. Xiao Yongming delivered a speech noticing that this agreement would mark a milestone in the history of the Yuelu Academy. The Hunan Provincial Museum boasts abundant collections and the Yuelu Academy enjoys a long history, and both of them are important cultural landmarks in Changsha. By complementing each other, the Hunan Provincial Museum and the Yuelu Academy can cooperate in many fields. As an auxiliary unit of Hunan University, the Yuelu Academy undertakes the following responsibilities: the protection and utilization of cultural relics, personnel training, scientific research and culture communication. On the basis of established cooperation, the signing of this agreement will definitely yield better results as well as a promotion for social development and cultural renaissance. It is sincerely hoped that the two organizations will have a long-term, stable, comprehensive and deep collaboration.
  

Li Jianmao pointed out that based on the solid foundation of the previous cooperation, the agreement marks an official stage of cooperation and a clearer relationship between the two organizations, which will bring about more advantages and achieve resource sharing.

The Yuelu Academy with the functions of education, collection, scientific research and exhibition, serves as a symbol of Hunan Culture. Its auxiliary organization, the Chinese Academy Museum, is the first thematic museum presenting the history of China’s academies and cultural education. The Hunan Provincial Museum represents Huxiang Culture. It is a national key museum jointly built by the central and local government. It is a non-profit cultural institution with the functions of collection, exhibition, education, research and dissemination of Hunan Culture.

As is mentioned above, two organizations share similar mission and have been cooperating with each other for a long time. The needs for the organizations’ internal development and career development accelerate the signing of the cooperative agreement. As the Hunan Provincial Museum will open to the public soon, it needs excellent talents, effective strategies and policies to promote its scientific research under the concept of “being professional”. By cooperating with the Yuelu Academy, the museum hope to enhance scientific research through programs and cultivate more talents to lay a solid foundation for the development of two organizations.

Later, Duan Xiaoming, director of the Hunan Provincial Museum, and Xiao Yongming, director of the Yuelu Academy of Hunan University, signed the comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement. In light of the agreement, the two organizations will cooperate and exchange views on education and training, talents cultivation, scientific research and other areas, so as to establish an effective long-term and stable mechanism.
