On September 26th, 2015, Hunan Provincial Museum organized a series of “Mid-Autumn Day” folk activities with the theme of Meeting blooming flowers and full moon, in order to promote Chinese traditional culture and spread the knowledge of Chinese traditional festivals. Under the guidance of the educators, kids and parents got to know the origin of Mid-Autumn Festival and related customs by reciting the Children’s folk rhyme “moon song” and watching a short animated clip “the goddess Chang’e flying to the moon”. And then, kids vividly presented the legend story of “Jade hare making heavenly medicine”. Meanwhile, kids and parents were invited to draw a “creative fan” with the characters of the Mid-Autumn Festival.

The activity has received many positive responses from kids and parents. They fully enjoyed gaining a better understanding on the customs of Mid-Autumn Festival and were deeply attracted by the Chinese traditional customs.
