2011 Hunan Society of Museums Annual Meeting & Museum Education Seminar Held in Shaoshan

From October 18 to 20, 2011 Hunan Society of Museums Annual Meeting & Museum Education Seminar was held in Shaoshan, gathering together over 80 participants from 50 museums and memorial halls around Hunan Province.

During the annual meeting, the 5^th session and the 3^rd plenary session of the 6^th Standing Council of the Society were held on October 18, through which the 2011 Working Report of society secretariat was passed, the new applied members were approved, the membership fee standard was decided, the developing direction of Corpus of Museology, as well as the organization of 2012 annual meeting were discussed.

Chen Jianming, Director-General of Hunan Society of Museums, hosts the 3^rd plenary session of the 6th Standing Council of the Society.

The opening ceremony of 2011 Hunan Society of Museums Annual Meeting & Museum Education Seminar was held on the morning of October 19. Zhang Zhichu, Duan Xiaoming, Li Xiaoji and Chen Jianming attended and addressed the ceremony. After the opening ceremony, the participants lively discussed and exchanged the opinions on such themes of the educational work on revolutionary monument sites, the planning, implementing and evaluating models of museum education, museum audience study and educator training, the relationship between museum education and education of middle and primary schools, the team building and management model of museum volunteers, etc. Then, six representatives were selected to make keynote speeches.
