Chen Jianming, director of Hunan Provincial Museum said in the ceremony: “With China stepping into an Auto Era, Hunan Provincial Museum launched the first exhibition about American cars in China, making people appreciate and feel the elegance of car culture while thinking about the development of Chinese auto industry and auto culture and art. This auto photography is firstly displayed in China to give introduction about cars but also about the development history and culture and art of cars. ”
This exhibition as one of the cross-year blockbuster exhibitions, taking a comprehensive review of cars-products of the industrial revolution, showing 163 pieces of works by American photographers, provides an outline of the world’s most famous cars through history, followed by a look at the major events in American automobile development and finally, a view of contemporary life and art inspired by the automobile.
American cars not only occupy an important role in the automobile world but also dominate our contemporary lifestyle. The speed with which America has embraced the car has made America a world leader in car design and culture, just as Henry Ford had hoped.
Nowadays, cars and car culture are very popular in almost all the countries around the globe. The running cars seem like the moving trend of human society. The exhibition with the art form of photography makes a comprehensive introduction about the history, culture and art of cars, thus improving people’s understanding and appreciation of cars and their culture.
During the exhibition, various educational activities will be launched, such as family activity “cars” and “my transformer”. Kids can make car models with their parents so as to learn about the history of cars.
