50 plays in 17 days may still seem to occupy the Summer holidays and parents sometimes still need to decide whether to send their kids to cram schools or just let them play. The Beijing Museum of Natural History offers an alternative that combines learning with entertainment.

A place that puts the fun into function. With this exotic black light drama from the Czech Republic, the 2013 drama week of the Beijing Museum of Natural History kicks off.

Among the many fun and informative galleries, the all time favorite for many little ones is the Dinosaur Park.

From the twenty-meter long Diplodocus and the terrifying T. Rex, to the cuddly babies, these lifelike models take visitors on an amazing journey from the Triassic period to the Cretaceous.

Parents are glad to see their kid’s enthusiasm.

One said, "It’s the perfect place to be! Here kids are learning actively which is totally different from what we do in schools, like just memorizing textbooks."

And there’s more besides the collections.

Li Jianwen, secretary of Beijing Museum of Natural History, said, "Here we also have many training sessions like tour guide training and drama classes. We hope the kids could become more confident and also widen their knowledge of our mother nature."

This year’s drama week will see of a stage adaptation of the classic Chinese animation "Tadpole’ Mummy". And renowned professors will give lectures on science and art.
