Changsha Citizens Say Goodbye to Collections from Uffizi Gallery

“Collections of Uffizi Gallery: From 15th to 20th Centuries” co-held by Italy Uffizi Gallery and Hunan Provincial Museum closed on February 27, 2011. This exhibition, opened to the public on November 30, 2010, has received over 50,000 visitors.

A series of activities, including on-site and off-site activities, had been held during the exhibition. Among which, such interactive games and contests as “Self-portrait”, “Knowledge Lollipop”, “Magic Dresses”, “A Journey into Italy”, “Stories in the Paintings”, “Guided Tour”, “Messages on Micro-blog”, “Winter Camp”, “Joy in the Paintings Essay Contest”, “Painting Contest”, etc. have been favorably reviewed by visitors. A foreign girl named Anna Baunganber leaved a message on Guest book, saying that “Glory not in this that you love your country, glory in this that you love mankind.’This is a wonderful museum showing cultural artifacts from both East and West.”

As the exhibition came to a close, an exhibition titled “Joy in the Paintings—Education Outcome of Collections of Uffizi Gallery” was held on the third floor of the Exhibition Building of Hunan Provincial Museum, showcasing 36 pieces of drawings full of imagination created by kids under the age of 10.
