Chinese Lunar New Year Event Held at Hunan Provincial Museum
From January 23 to 27, 2012, that is, the first day to the fifth day in Chinese Lunar calendar, events around the exhibition of “Mysterious Tibet Bathed in Buddha’s Light” themed on New Year Praying for Blessings were held on the third floor of the new exhibition building of Hunan Provincial Museum, which attracted a large number of visitors.
During these days, the first 10 visitors setting their foot in the exhibition hall each day would be selected as the “Lucky visitors”, who would later have the honor of receiving the white Hada (refers to the traditional ceremonial scarf used in Tibet) and highland barley wine (the typical wine drunk by Tibetan people) presented by museum staff, and then have the opportunity of writing down their new year’s wishes.
This event, around the exhibition of “Mysterious Tibet Bathed in Buddha’s Light” currently on display at the museum and attended by people of all ages, was highly welcomed and reviewed. Conveying visitors’ wishes and prayers through such special Tibetan tradition and attracting more visitors to enjoy a meaningful holiday by participating in cultural activities, it is a New Year gift elaborately designed by Hunan Provincial Museum to all Changsha citizens.
