Chinese Pupils Flock to Museums in Summer Vacation

Museums all around China have become the hotspot for pupils and their families in this summer, due to the coming of summer holiday, the larger coverage of the free admission policy, as well as the increasing attention paid to children from the Chinese cultural institutions in recent years.

The visit numbers of our museum have exceeded 5,000 per day since July 1, and one third of whomwere pupils and some even were college students with specific subject tasks, said the vice head of Public Service Department, Guangdong Museum on July 15.

Many museums, galleries and science centers have held various exhibitions and hands-on activities specially designed for school children, such as exhibition of “Enlightenment and Education” at National Museum of China, activity named “Museum Night” at National Wildlife Museum, “Little-docent Competition” at West Lake Museum, special exhibition of “Seven-stringed Zithers” and family-day-activity themed “Zither Playing" to be held at Hunan Provincial Museum, etc.
