Exhibition of Porcelain From Changsha Kiln Kicked off in Beijing
“Exhibition of Porcelain from Changsha Kiln”, jointly organized by Hunan Provincial Museum, Beijing Art Museum, Hunan Archeological Research Institute, Changsha Museum and Administrative Office of Tongguanyao Site etc kicked off on July 23 at Beijing Art Museum. The opening ceremony attracted several famous media and many noted experts like Geng Baochang.Li Jianmao, deputy director of Hunan Provincial Museum and vice chairman of China’s Ancient Ceramics Institute delivered a speech, making an introduction of the artistic features of Changsha Kilns as well as the social significance of this exhibition.

That afternoon, a symposium about Changsha kiln was held at Hubei Hotel in Beijing, which was attended by more than 50 experts and leaders in archaeological field. During the symposium, Li made an address, illustrating the latest research achievements regarding the periodization and glazing features of Changsha kiln. Besides, Zhang Xingguo, associated researcher of Hunan Archeological Research Institute, Lu Minghua, researcher of Shanghai Museum and Ren Zhilu, director of Shenzhen Archeological Identification Institute also delivered lectures. The meeting shall promote the further academic research on Changsha kiln.

The exhibition, with over 170 valuable items, will last for 3 months. It marks the debut comprehensive show of porcelains from Changsha kiln in Beijing and helps people get a better understanding about porcelain culture of Changsha.
