Family Activities “Indian Artists” Held in Hunan Provincial Museum
On April 11, education center of Hunan Provincial Museum launched two activities of “Indian Artists” in Tan Guobin Contemporary Art Museum, attended by students and their parents from Class 14 of the second primary school of Hunan First Normal University.
To promote the social effect of the exhibition “Native North American’s Artworks” co-organized by Hunan Provincial Museum and The Bowers Museum of Cultural Art etc, education center of the Hunan Provincial Museum designed a series of activities with theme of “Indian Artists”.
Of forty groups of parents and children in the class, some took part in the activities in the morning while others in the afternoon. Students carefully visited key items on display under the guide of two education staff from Hunan Provincial Museum, gaining a rough idea about distinctive lifestyle of indigenous residents in North America and their artworks with strong breath of life. In the interaction period, children and parents made different Indian masks and colorful hand ropes.
The educational activities were warmly responded because they enhanced the communication between children and parents, strengthened class cohesiveness. What’s more, they enabled students to learn through playing, to be interested in history and culture of the world.
On April 18, the education center will organize special family activities for the class so that every student can feel the primitive simplicity of Indian art.
