Family-Day Activity on “Stories in Paintings”
On the morning of January 22, 22 little reporters from Sanxiang Huasheng, a company under Hunan Daily, visited the exhibition of “Collections from Italian Uffizi Gallery” at Hunan Provincial Museum with their parents and participated with great interest in Family-Day activity on “Stories in Paintings”. It was the first program that has been specially and elaborately designed for little reporters since the opening of this exhibition.
Listening to the story about the painting
After interesting stories and funny short films, little reporters carefully and closely appreciated the delicate artworks under the guidance of docents, deeply attracted by the paintings and their related stories. Questions and answers were frequently exchanged between docents and student reporters.
Inspired by this exhibition, in the last “Parent-Child” interaction part, little reporters and their parents made concerted efforts to create their own DIY paintings, among which, Make a Snowman, created by Liu Tiantian and her father, won “Most Creative Little Artist Award”.
Showing DIY paintings
This activity day, which imparted students with not only the knowledge of world history and art, but also the etiquette in appreciating these refined artworks such as keeping voice down and no touching, is favorably reviewed by both students and parents.
This Family-day activity is one of the education activities themed “Joys in Paintings” held by Hunan Provincial Museum through the winter vacation. More little reporters around Changsha will be invited to such upcoming activities as winter camp, essay awards, drawing competition on the theme of the current Italian exhibition.
