Guide to the Spring Educational Activities in Hunan Provincial Museum

Since March 29, 2014, Hunan Provincial Museum and Dahexi Pilot District Planning Exhibition Center will, throughout the year, jointly launch the Cultural Relics from Mawangdui Han Tombs Exhibition for free on the first floor of the Dahexi Exhibition Center. While the Light and Shadows: The Oil Painting of Tuscany, Italy 1850-1950 will also be held on the third floor.

The educational activities of the museum will be held at the Pilot District Planning Exhibition Center, near the Yanghu Wetland Park.

Educational Activities for Cultural Relics from Mawangdui Han Tombs Exhibition

1. Thematic Activities

-The beauty of lacquer-Paint decorations on lacquer basins.

-Play the jigsaw puzzle of silk paintings

-Make papery Han Chinese Clothing

Educational Activities for Light and Shadows: The Oil Painting of Tuscany, Italy 1850-1950

To Tuscany

Write a few sentences or draw a painting about Tuscany on the brochure, then put it into the mailbox.

Programmes for school audiences

The museum will move its collection replicas to several primary and middle schools so that students can make a close contact with the museum even in their class.

College students will have a good understanding of the exhibition after their College or institution registers for the programme since the museum will invite experts to give lectures in the registered institution.

Programme for teachers

And also, for the registered schools, museum will invite school teachers to visit the exhibitions. Special trainings will be provided in order to encourage teachers to make use of museum resources for their teaching.
