Hunan Museum Successfully Co-Applied for the “2024 Hunan Province Innovation Consortium Pilot Program”

Hunan Museum, a key participant, has successfully co-applied for the High-Tech Audiovisual Content R&D and Application Innovation Consortium of Hunan Province, according to a recent official notice attached with the list of pilot enterprises building innovation consortium in 2024 by the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province. It also becomes the first pilot unit in the province’s cultural industry.

The application for construction pilot innovation consortium aims to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on "accelerating the construction of innovation consortium led by leading enterprises, supported by universities and research institutes, and with the coordianted cooperation of various innovation entities." It also aligns with the decisions and arrangements of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Hunan Provincial People’s Government regarding on speeding up building innovation consortium of Hunan’s enterprises. After going through rigorous procedures including application and recommendation, formal review, expert evaluation, expert verification, and panel deliberation, 15 pilot enterprises have eventually been selected by the Department of Science and Technology of Hunan Province.

The “High-Tech Audiovisual Content R&D and Application Innovation Consortium of Hunan Province” is led by Hunan Broadcasting System Co., Ltd. (HBS), in collaboration with Hunan Museum, Central South University, Hunan University, Changsha Malanshan Investment, Development and Construction Co., Ltd., Hunan Malanshan Institute of Advanced Video Technology, and several subsidiaries of HBS. Committed to rapidly building itself a top high-tech audiovisual industrial cluster nationwide, the Consortium will closely focus on new trends in technological advancements of the global high-tech audiovisual industry, with the direction of building high-level scientific innovation platforms, promoting the sustainable development of the high-tech audiovisual industrial chain, and facilitating the integration of technology and culture, and concentrate efforts to overcome key technological challenges in the high-tech audiovisual field.

Hunan Museum, a core institution in the cultural sector, possesses rich historical and cultural resources as well as profound cultural heritage. Its participation in the pilot program will not only enhance its scientific and technological innovation capacity but further promote a deep integration of culture and technology to drive the cultural industry’s high-quality development. In the future, it will leverage its strengths in digital media resource integration, technological R&D, and scene applications to collaborate with upstream and downstream enterprises in exploring new models for and fostering new formats in the integration of culture and technology and cultivating new growth points for the cultural industry. Additionally, it will actively engage in collaborative research with universities, research institutes, and other innovation entities, jointly undertaking national and provincial-and-ministerial-level research projects to promote the transformation and application of academic achievements and technological innovations.
