“Hunan Provincial Museum ranking among the best” was shortlisted for the “Most Fashionable Cultural Events for the Last 10 Years” in the “2010 Hunan Fashion Grand Ceremony” held by Hunan Culture and Entertaining Channel last week. Liu Xiaobao, vice director of Hunan Provincial Museum, on the behalf of Hunan Provincial Museum, attended the evening ceremony.

At the ceremony, Hunan Provincial Museum was highly remarked by the organizing committee as “a first-class museum not only renowned for its Mawangdui Exhibition, but also as an art palace for showcasing the artworks created by such masters as Monnai, Titian and many other famous artists in China.”

Having outreached their traditional functions of preservation and exhibition for a long time, modern museums have become the platform for public education and entertainment and the symbol of a city’s cultural trend. Over the years, Hunan Provincial Museum has presented a panoramic picture of Hunan civilization and its rich connotations, serving as the representative of Hunan culture as well as the best window through which to interpret Hunan culture. Meanwhile, with its focus on public service and people’s cultural rights and interests, it has been regarded as the fashion leader of Changsha culture, providing the preservation outcome of cultural relics. Now, Hunan Provincial Museum is listed as one of the first eight National Foremost Museums eligible to be co-constructed by central and local governments, wining the favorable recognition and reviews from various circles of society.
