Internship Center for Translation and Interpretation of School of Foreign Languages, Central South University Established in Hunan Provincial Museum

On the morning of May 24, 2011, the signing ceremony and unveiling ceremony was held between School of Foreign Languages, Central South University and Hunan Provincial Museum, regarding the “the establishment of internship centre for translation and interpretation”. A lot of guests attended this ceremony, including Dai Weiguo, the Party leader of School of Foreign Languages, Liao Jing, Head of English Department, Zhong Wenming, the deputy director of MTI Education Center in School of Foreign Languages, Liu Xiaobao, deputy director of Hunan Provincial Museum, Huang Lei, Head of the Museology Department and so on.

On the unveiling ceremony, Liu Xiaobao, deputy director of Hunan Provincial Museum said that there is an increasing demand for more translators and interpreters since Hunan Provincial Museum is carrying out more exchange activities with foreign museums. Cooperation with School of Foreign Languages, Central South University would not only meet the demand, but also provide an ideal opportunity for Hunan Provincial Museum to better perform its social educational function. Dai Weiguo, the Party leader of School of Foreign Languages pointed out that cooperation between the two parties would benefit students in School of Foreign Languages, providing a great opportunity for them to enhance their qualities in all aspects and improve their abilities in translation and interpretation.

After the unveiling ceremony, Dai Weiguo and his team visited the galleries, office in charge of volunteers and staff canteen. They marveled at the work done by Hunan Provincial Museum and its living surroundings, believing that the internship centre would have a promising future.
