Opening announcement of the Hunan Museum

Dear Visitors,

Welcome to the Hunan Museum!

The Hunan Museum is a national museum mainly representing the Hunan Civilization. With a focus on the protection of cultural heritage, the museum committed to spreading splendid traditional cultures and modern art, is an important window for displaying and inheriting the history and culture of Hunan Province. 

After arduous efforts for five years, the newly-built Hunan Museum will be finally open to the public at 1:00PM, November 29, 2017. The museum will be in trial operation during the first three months after its opening.
There are a few notices we hope you to know before your visit.

The museum is free to the public.
Kids under the age of 12 shall be accompanied by their parents or join the school group. 

Opening Hours:
From Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00—17:00 (last entry at 16:00)
Closed on Mondays (except statutory holidays) and on Chinese New Year's Eve. 

The following two permanent exhibitions are free of charge：
The Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tombs in Changsha
Hunanese-Exhibition of Hunan History and Culture

How to visit:

Please take your passport or other valid identity documents to the Ticket Office first to get a ticket. The security check is needed before entering into the galleries.
You can also book tickets at our website, the Hunan Museum APP and our WeChat Account.

Other tips:
In order to guarantee the quality and order of your visit, please choose the less-visited periods and avoid large crowds at peak times.
During the trial operation, the maximum number of visitors per day is 15,000.
Public Transportation is highly recommended due to limited parking spaces in the museum.
