The Press Conference & the Launching Ceremony of Art Changsha 2013 Kick off
On September 25, 2013, the press conference & the launching ceremony of Art Changsha 2013 were held on the fourth floor in Changsha YUNDA Sheraton Hotel at 3:00PM. Li Jianmao, deputy director of Hunan Provincial Museum attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
Art Changsha 2013 was co-organized by Changsha Municipal Government, Radio, Film and Television Bureau of Hunan Province, Hunan Administration of Cultural Relics. It was hosted by Hunan Provincial Museum, Hunan Tan Guobin Museum of Contemporary Art and Jialexuan Company. Hunan Television Channel of Economics, Changsha Bureau of Culture, Broadcasting, Television, Press and Publication, Changsha Cultural Relics Bureau, Changsha Municipal Museum, Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House and Yachang Cultural Group were the supporting units. Chen Jianming, Director of Hunan Provincial Museum, was the curator of the exhibition.
It is the fourth time that China’s contemporary arts are largely gathered here in Changsha. The exhibition features the latest works by four top contemporary artists Zhou Chunya, Guo Wei, Ding Yi and Xiang Jing, including more than 90 oil paintings, sculptures and other works. The exhibition will be held in Changsha Municipal Museum.
Art Changsha was first held in 2007 and has been already successfully held for three times. It has become a beacon in the art community of China, bringing fresh and avant-garde artistic experience to Hunan Province which has deep culture roots and long history. Art Changsha 2013 not only brings about new artistic elements to Changsha, but also provides a golden opportunity for Changsha residents to take on a fresh cultural journey. What’s more, Art Changsha has been turned into a Publicity Card for Hunan Provincial Museum. Hunan Provincial Museum will continue to hold the exhibition, making it more professional and elevating to new levels.
Art Changsha 2013 will start from October 19 and last for one month. Besides the masterpieces of the top four artists, art, the public and city will be further integrated in the exhibition. The themes like integration and development of contemporary art and urban art industries as well as the trend of the contemporary art toward the public domain will also be explored in the exhibition. Various art forum activities will be launched in different art websites. Moreover, a series of related exhibitions including works of several famous Chinese artists like Fang Lijun, Su Xinping and others will be held in Changsha.
