American Car Culture in Photography
American cars not only occupy an important role in the automobile world but also dominate our contemporary lifestyle. The speed with which America has embraced the car has made America a world leader in car design and culture.
This exhibition as one of the cross-year blockbuster exhibitions, taking a comprehensive review of cars-products of the industrial revolution, showing 163 pieces of works by five contemporary American photographers, provides an outline of the world’s most famous cars through history, followed by a look at the major events in American automobile development and finally, a view of contemporary life and art inspired by the automobile.
Nowadays, cars and the culture of cars are popular among nearly every country while the flow of moving cars looks like the lifeline of human beings in modern society. This exhibition is the first of its kind with the theme of “the culture of cars” introduced by the Hunan Provincial Museum, which is also a blockbuster exhibition we present cross the year. Let’s follow the cameras of those photographers to learn more about the history of cars, enjoy their art and culture.

Exhibition hall on the fifth floor of Tan Guobin Museum of Contemporary Art. (Xiangjiang No.1 , the intersection of Xiangjiang North Road and Chuangyuan Road, in Kaifu District of Changsha.)
Bus Line: take 128, 801 to Xinglian School.
People may enjoy the exhibition for free with valid certificates (ID card, student card, certificate of officers, older card, and passport etc).
Service of interpretation and guide tour will be provided for free.
