Han Tombs in Changsha
“Han Tombs in Changsha” Project, supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China, was launched in 2002 and is about to close in 2018. Gao Zhixi, an expert in the Hunan Museum is the director of the project. 2,131 Han Toms found in Changsha between 1952 to 1996 were compiled in the Comprehensive Excavation Report of Changsha Han Tombs. A monograph with over 1 million words, more than 4,000 images and over 3,000 drawings was published as a great outcome of the project.
Several academic articles funded by the project have been published on the Journal of Hunan Museum such as Research on the Bell-Shaped Objects Unearthed from Han Tombs in Changsha and Research on the Hard Pottery Building Models as Burial Objects Unearthed from Eastern Han Tombs in Changsha.
